Youth Development Mission Statement
OTB's Youth Development was created to assist the youth & parents in the beginnings of their football/athletic journey. Lots of parents do not know where to start when it comes to deciding if tackle football is for their child, which team to put them on, and how to maximize their athleticism to make the commitment worth while. Youth Development focuses on basic physical training to help athletes understand the way their body operates, but with a fun twist added to workouts to keep youth athletes engrossed in the learning process. We mix this physical training with basic football technique and knowledge so that your youth can be ready for anything that may be thrown at them come game time. Start their journey with us!
Program/Session Information
Session Layout/Collaboration
Session Layout:
Speed and Power training (Run time- 1hr 15min)
Sessions will then consist of basic football knowledge.
Basic football technique work and utilization training.
Mobility/Learning block to help gain knowledge of the human body in fitness training.
Group/Unit Focused:
OTB is a group/unit focused training style
In order to learn majority of the techniques that are taught, there must be a group involved due to certain drills that we focus on.
Private sessions focus only on the singular techniques that can be learned from the program.
We strongly suggest groups to foster collaboration from other high level high school athletes and create a strong relationship with athletes from various schools.
Basic Knowledge:
OTB breaks down basic knowledge into 4 zones:
Zone 1: Understand the basic rules of football
Zone 2: Understand how the human body is used during play and the importance of mindfulness.
Zone 3: Understand the beginnings of offensive and defensive schemes.
Zone 4: Be coachable and put your best foot forward.
This implemented philosophy will ensure a great beginning for your youth athlete and will put them ahead of many others in mind & body at their age.
Technique Training:
Learning the basic technique in our program is complex technique anywhere else.
Coaches pride themselves in the creation of a program that New Mexico has never seen before. Fostering coaching queues to assist the comprehension of great technique.
The technique learned here bolsters their knowledge of each position tenfold.
Physical Training:
Physical training at OTB is not just regular fitness training to help your kids "get in shape".
We focus on the importance of how the body is used in various situations in the game and everyday life. Breaking down the science of the body to further education minds & boost athleticism.
